On the other hand men, who are brought up with a traditionally masculine approach to emotions, are taught to, you know, man up. This may sound weird — but it makes sense if you think about it. He had the right to break up with her we appear to be in agreement about that AND to date or be in a relationship with whomever he wants after having done so.
